Timetable and Tickets
The 281 'town centre bus link' service runs at times to suit you, and, with frequent buses running every 12 minutes during the main part of the day, there is never long to wait until the next one comes along.
During the evening and on Sundays there is a half-hourly service.

As well as linking the High Brooms and Rusthall areas with the centre of Royal Tunbridge Wells and the rail station, the route also connects the main shopping and historic parts of the town, so it's easy to get around and taking the 281 will save you having to walk up that steep hill in the town centre!

A ticket for everyone
Hop on and off any Arriva bus, including the 281 'town centre bus link', in the Royal Tunbridge Wells town centre zone for just £1 a day.*
Simply buy your Shopper-hopper ticket from the driver as you board the bus and then use it as many times as you like for the rest of the day.
* Not available before 9am on Mondays to Fridays

Saver tickets for regular travellers
Arriva’s Day, Weekly and Four-weekly Savers offer great value for money. Buy them on the bus or via your mobile phone and then travel as much as you like in the relevant zone.
Weekly and Four-weekly Savers can also be bought from local shops displaying the PayPoint, payzone or epay signs.
Four-weekly Savers are 10% cheaper if you buy them online at arrivabus.co.uk or via your mobile phone!
There are three different tickets to suit your needs. One covers the Tonbridge zone and one the Tunbridge Wells zone, both also covering Southborough.
Then there’s the Tunbridge Wells Extra Saver which covers the combined area of both zones and also extends to cover Pembury village and out as far as Crowborough and Jarvis Brook. All of these tickets are valid at all times of the day and can be used on all Arriva buses in the relevant zone.
